This bedroom design, featuring a bespoke walk-in wardrobe, was commissioned by our client in Luxembourg and was inspired by a desire for simplicity. Together, we chose these soft, timeless colours, which create a sense of warmth and well-being. The bed, bedside tables, walk-in wardrobe and overhead storage (cupboards, shelves) provide an impressive amount of storage space and a lovely play area for the cat.
A bespoke grey and wood-effect walk-in wardrobe for a bright bedroom
The grey tones of the bedroom furniture – from the bed to the wardrobe – blend perfectly with the colours of the wooden flooring found throughout this modern flat in Luxembourg. The natural light streaming in through the large window floods the room and enhances the overall look. The bedroom’s layout alternates between large chests of drawers with matt grey fronts and open shelving in a wood-effect finish.

Shades of grey and wood throughout the bedroom
If our client hadn’t mentioned that he liked grey, we would have realised it straight away. In this bedroom, the bedding, the wallpaper and the cabinet fronts were all chosen in these shades. Shades of grey offer so many possibilities (coolness, warmth) that they alone can create contrast and even bring light to a space. We suggested enhancing them in certain places with wood that echoes the flooring, and the client was quick to agree with us. The corner unit serves as a room divider, a walk-in wardrobe and a shelving unit, allowing us to combine practicality with decoration.
Furnished room with a view
When you design a piece of furniture with both its front and back in mind, the possibilities for interior design multiply. In the bedroom, the open space and its shelves sit alongside tall grey walls that define the room without closing it off. On the hallway side, an elegant, bespoke walk-in wardrobe with doors and drawers fitted with long black handles comes into view. Organising the space without partitioning it off is a very sensible choice when you don’t want to waste floor space.
The elegance of the walk-in wardrobe at the head of the bed
In this warm, grey setting, the exposed section of the bedroom wall has been covered with a beautiful textured wallpaper, which in turn adds subtle shades and an interesting texture. It breaks up the smooth appearance of the original white wall and creates a lovely transition at the headboard between the furniture, the walk-in wardrobe and the bedding. The spotlights built into the recess provide ample light for reading and a welcome sense of comfort.
A walk-in wardrobe outside the bedroom
In the adjoining corridor, an entire wall has been turned into a walk-in wardrobe. From floor to ceiling, running the full length of the room, the wall now houses the family’s entire wardrobe. Impressive, isn’t it?
