This bespoke TV stand and bookcase forms part of a comprehensive interior design project carried out by our team on the outskirts of Lausanne. The owners of this modern house, which boasts generous living spaces, were won over by the idea of defining their spaces with industrial-style glass partitions. For this room in particular, the partition features an elegant dark turquoise shade. This splash of colour has influenced certain aesthetic choices for this corner TV stand and bookcase, which has been designed with the whole family in mind.
A TV stand and a bookcase go well together
This room has been designed as an invitation to culture and leisure. A magnificent glass partition by Laruche, featuring sliding doors, immediately sets a unique tone and makes you want to step inside. Offering a first glimpse of a very bright atmosphere and beautiful natural-coloured parquet flooring, it also reveals a large bookcase with an original design, extended by a TV unit that leaves plenty of space for the screen. Once you’ve crossed the threshold, an unexpected world opens up before you – a charming, book-filled space that invites you to pick up one of the many books for young and old at random, and lose yourself in it for hours on end…

The TV, perfectly positioned on its stand
By making the most of a long wall, the TV unit and bookcase combination skilfully complements the room. The exposed wall surrounding the television screen really shows it off to its best advantage. The lower section is packed with spacious cupboards. The bookcase section then begins and extends right across to the opposite corner, featuring shelves and recesses in a variety of colours and sizes.
A library with unique design features
The structural design of this bookcase deliberately avoided symmetry in favour of an asymmetrical layout. This is evident firstly in the volumes, as mentioned, but also in the alternating wood-coloured and turquoise fronts. It is worth noting the subtle effect created by the colouring of the edges on certain panels, which contrasts with the finish and creates beautiful transitions. A lovely, well-lit recess, fitted with power sockets, allows one to sit on the low units, which double as a bench, for a moment’s reading or to play on one’s phone. The numerous compartments allow everyone to store their books and belongings. This is a fine example of a bespoke library design incorporating a TV unit, perfect for those seeking something unique and original.
