Having a room dedicated to a home office is a dream for many of us, especially since remote working has become so widespread. As the last priority after the bedrooms and the living room, a small home office will often end up in the living room or a bedroom. The loft of a house or flat is a space that is sometimes left unused but is invaluable for anyone lacking a room or storage furniture.

A bright, bespoke office designed to make work a pleasure
With high ceilings and beautiful architectural features, this 12 m² attic space easily inspired our team in Luxembourg. The ‘mission’ entrusted to us by the clients was to create a pleasant atmosphere in this office, maintain plenty of natural light, provide ample storage space and… surprise them. This resulted in a design featuring light-coloured furniture (with matt white fronts and solid oak in a matt varnish), combined with a variety of storage solutions (cupboards, recesses, shelves, etc.). A floral wallpaper creates a lovely harmony with the light wood.
“The loft in our house used to be nothing more than a soulless, empty room. It has now become one of the cosiest rooms in the house. It’s such a pleasure to be able to work in ‘our office’.”
A natural setting
The office area faces a wall adorned with a beautiful botanical motif that blends superbly with the light wood of the main worktop and the shelves. These create a stepped effect that follows the slope of the roof, resulting in an attractive interplay of forms. Underneath the desk, discreet storage provides space for a vast amount of files. There are no handles on the doors; they open with a simple press.
Variation in storage solutions
A beautiful solid oak niche sits above a multifunctional storage unit. The drawers and doors, with their matt white fronts and no handles, are flush with the horizontal surface, creating a stunning finish.
Furniture and office space seamlessly integrated
Through an ingenious interplay of structures, the furniture in this room – now converted into an office – creates varying levels, openings, blocks and slender lines. Conceived as a piece of architecture, a piece of furniture can be a real delight to the eye, like a piece of jewellery or a fine watch that one never tires of admiring and which even instils a sense of well-being. For an office, these are ideal conditions for working… with pleasure.
