The commission for this bespoke hall unit, in a house in Luxembourg, stemmed from the client’s observation that the space felt cramped and lacked warmth. Although very light and airy, this hallway was not welcoming enough. White dominated the walls, door and ceiling, lending the space a cold, clinical feel. The project, entrusted to the team at BeHome Interiors Luxembourg, resulted in a design that was appealing in its simplicity, yet presented a delightful challenge in terms of precision.

Furnishing your hallway the smart way
Before the project was entrusted to BeHome Interiors in Luxembourg, a rather unattractive cupboard had stood in the recess of the wall in this entrance hall for years. It provided storage space thanks to its numerous shelves but was rather impractical. Our client, Jérôme, realised that bespoke interior design could make better use of this space’s potential in a more interesting way, by creating a unique, bespoke hall unit.
Simple design for a brilliant idea
Designing an entrance hall doesn’t necessarily mean trying to impress your guests. The idea of incorporating a niche or alcove into a bespoke hall unit – the primary purpose of which is to provide storage – immediately appealed. Its size makes you want to sit there and even spend a moment reading, whilst perched on comfortable cushions.
A well-designed hall unit
The unit in this hallway does not seek to impose a flashy design but instead opts for understated simplicity. The white fronts extend from floor to ceiling, following the contours of the architecture. The light wood-veneered recess provides contrast and just enough warmth to dispel the previously clinical feel of this hallway. Only bespoke design can achieve this.
Discreet, bespoke storage in the hallway
The white fronts of the doors and drawers have no handles. With a simple push, the storage units open up thanks to the push-to-open system. This full-height, made-to-measure hall unit features a coat rack, shoe storage and plenty of cupboard space for storing everyday items.
