This bespoke bedroom design, created in a modern flat in Nyon, is the result of a fruitful collaboration between the client and the team at BeHome Interiors Geneva. How can a medium-sized bedroom be made both spacious (with a built-in cupboard and walk-in wardrobe) and elegant? By carefully selecting materials, combining warm wood with white, and creating textural elements that break up the monotony, for example.
Decorating the bedroom with passion
When designing a bedroom, it is important to take into account the property (whether old or modern) in which the bespoke furniture is to be installed. This typical flat in a recent development is very square in shape, with grey wooden flooring and white walls. Designing a cupboard or walk-in wardrobe that combines white and wood is a good way to create harmony and add a touch of warmth.
“We are delighted that we put our trust in Mr Simon when he came to Nyon to fit out our bedroom, and we are absolutely thrilled with the result. This professional’s imagination, practical ideas and experience in creating bespoke furniture are truly reassuring at every stage.”
Furnishing the area around the bed
The bedroom is the room where some people like to relax, take time out to read, and perhaps more if the mood takes them. You might as well make it cosy and well-equipped so that everything is within easy reach. The headboard extends into a small alcove, fitted with a shelf, sockets and lighting. Above it, a small bookcase provides space for your current reading material.
A well-designed cupboard
Starting the day on the right foot but still a bit groggy, it’s great to have immediate access to your belongings. This made-to-measure cupboard is a first storage area with numerous features (drawers, compartments, niches) made discreet by the absence of handles. A simple push is all it takes to find your favourite socks.
A magnificent built-in wardrobe in Nyon
Making the most of your bedroom to maximise storage space is a good idea when you’re short on room. You might as well create a large walk-in wardrobe that can be used for both clothes and bulky items. For these large doors, handles that are as discreet as they are stylish make it easy to access your outfits. The drawers are finished in wood veneer, lending the whole unit a warm and elegant feel. The small shelves on the side add a lovely finishing touch.
A bespoke cupboard that makes the most of the height
Fitting a bespoke unit that extends to the full height of a room can sometimes save up to several cubic metres of space! The walk-in wardrobe in this bedroom in Nyon makes the most of this. Above the storage units, right up near the ceiling, the wooden strip is a finishing touch that is as stylish as it is practical. It incorporates small LED spotlights that will come in very handy for finding your way around.
