This large, bespoke wall-mounted bookcase was created in Belvaux by BeHome Interiors Luxembourg. Our clients, a very friendly young couple in their thirties, had always bought their furniture from shops.
So they turned to us for the first time to have a bespoke piece of furniture fitted in their flat. It was a wonderful vote of confidence, and the result lived up to their expectations.

An overview of our clients’ showroom at the time of our visit
The living room – a medium-sized, rectangular room in a modern flat – lacks a sense of harmony when it comes to the furniture. In terms of both colour and style, it’s clear that the purchases made over the years were never really well thought out (low wooden TV stand, metal bookcase, storage unit, etc.).
“We’d never used a bespoke furniture company before. As fans of comics, literature and music, we were at our wits’ end seeing our collections scattered all over the flat. When we finally decided to buy a bookcase, we couldn’t find anything we liked in the shops. Let’s start with the design
When it comes to bespoke furniture, the possibilities for a bookcase are endless. When clients tell us what they’re looking for, they mention traditional comic books, manga, coffee-table books, vinyl records (and their dedicated turntable), collectables, figurines… All these physical items come in different sizes. We suggest tailoring the unit to their collections by creating varying depths on the shelves. And extending the unit as far as possible between two doors and across the full height of the wall. Bingo!
On site on the day
We cannot stress this enough: BeHome Interiors takes care of you and your home from start to finish. Once the design has been approved (width, height and depth of units, materials and colours, etc.), we begin production. Delivery times are quickly and precisely confirmed, and delivery is arranged for a date that suits you. Our fitters get straight to work. The furniture will be assembled in a matter of hours.
Bespoke variations…
Spacious, narrow, sturdy… each niche is unique. The horizontal shelves are thick and crafted from beautiful light wood to accommodate numerous, sometimes heavy, volumes. The vertical sections are finished in an elegant matt white, creating a subtle contrast. Every book and object finds the place it deserves. Once filled, the bookcase becomes truly unique, reflecting our clients’ passion for culture. It brings style and warmth to the room.
A library that embraces music…
Whilst books make up the bulk of their collection, vinyl records are already carving out a small space for themselves. Placed on a shelf at the height requested by our clients, not far from the floor, the turntable and speaker have been given the largest niche. Bespoke design has struck again! 🙂
No doors obscure any of the recesses. The bespoke unit reflects an openness to a wide variety of cultures.
A highly versatile piece of furniture…
One of the unique features of this piece of furniture is the difference in depth between the left and right sections, where the manga – which are of a fairly standard size – are stored. This ensures that the spines of the books are neatly aligned with that of the shelf on which they rest. A subtle angle connects them to create a beautiful, seamless continuity. This angle is also found at the left-hand end of the unit, providing a gentle finish.
