In one of the most beautiful villas in Hesperange, our client wanted to install a large bookcase in a corridor between two living rooms. For his books, of course, but also for his collectables. A bespoke bookcase, crafted, admittedly, from modern materials, but in complete harmony with the interior architecture, which features extensive mouldings on the walls and ceiling. Consequently, mouldings were incorporated into this impressive piece of furniture, which stretches six metres from one end of the room to the other, forming two right angles.
A large library in which to display all his passions
This bespoke bookcase had to be as grand as possible so that it could house an extensive collection of books of all kinds, as well as collectables (Tintin memorabilia, works of art, etc.). A play on levels and depths gives the whole piece a sense of space and creates a sense of harmony.

Creating a 3D model of the bookcase
This generously sized, bespoke bookcase is also a complex project due to its ambitious nature. Niches of varying sizes are planned to create an overall sense of movement and avoid monotony. This also makes it easy to accommodate books and objects of various sizes. 3D modelling makes it easy to visualise your future bespoke piece of furniture.
Niches that showcase the mouldings
When taking measurements, we took into account the magnificent mouldings that adorn the walls of the villa in Hesperange. It would have been a shame for the bookcase to hide them. On the contrary, this bespoke piece of furniture showcases them by following their contours and highlighting them. Mouldings have been incorporated into the structure of the bookcase, halfway up and at the very top, creating a truly harmonious whole.
Bookcase with neatly moulded corners
Stretching a full six metres in length, the bookcase features two right-angled corners at either end. The two doors at either end of the hallway, facing each other, are connected by the unit, which is designed to accommodate the wall fixtures (radiator, mouldings, etc.). This beautiful villa in the Howald neighbourhood is adorned with a lovely, bright white piece of furniture.
A piece of furniture that isn’t afraid of heights
The two corners provide a beautiful finish to the bookcase and, at the same time, extend above the doors. The wood panelling, combined with backlighting, ensures the bespoke piece blends seamlessly with its surroundings and highlights the books near the ceiling.
