Set within a stunning villa, this large bookcase was originally conceived by our client. A fan of Queen but, above all, an avid reader, he approached BeHome Interiors to create this piece of furniture. He wanted a natural wood finish, for it to be sturdy, with shelves and compartments of varying sizes, and, above all, for it to feature a ladder so he could reach every single book. This bespoke bookcase has become the ‘queen’ of the house: some books are perched at a height of over 3 metres!
A large, sturdy bookcase that commands attention with its symmetry
This bespoke bookcase embraces classicism, geometry and even symmetry. The shelves vary in height to accommodate the different volumes in this extensive collection, whilst maintaining a consistent overall appearance. The 28 mm thickness of the shelves and uprights gives this bespoke piece of furniture unquestionable sturdiness.

Large-scale furniture
This bespoke bookcase, crafted from natural oak veneer, makes a striking impression with its impressive dimensions. The books, arranged across a width of 2.30 metres and a height of 3.50 metres, are all easily accessible thanks to a beautiful oak ladder made by one of our skilled joiners.
Solid-looking bookcase
The 28mm thickness of the uprights and shelves conveys a genuine sense of sturdiness and quality, even when viewed up close. We rarely offer solid wood as it is very expensive, heavy and less flexible than veneer. The quality of the finishes and the precision of the cuts are real assets for us and for our customers.
A piece of furniture with a solid base
The lower section of the bookcase consists of four identical units. These are large drawers designed to hold all sorts of bulky items, providing a generous amount of much-needed storage space. Why go without storage space when you’re having a piece of furniture made to measure?
