Our clients had been wanting to carry out this kitchen renovation project in their house in Les Cullayes, in the hills above Lausanne, for some time. The kitchen units were from a bygone era. When they contacted BeHome Interiors Lausanne, they never imagined that their plans for a new kitchen would turn into a minor revolution in their home…
Pre-renovation survey of the kitchen
Our first visit to the house took place on a fine day. Whilst the living room feels wonderfully light and airy, the kitchen seems rather dim. The window isn’t very large, but it offers a magnificent view of the Alps. The room is too narrow to eat in. The idea of ‘opening it up’ quickly springs to mind.
Several proposals for renovating the kitchen
The initial kitchen renovation proposals submitted to the client are, as is customary, designed to fit within the existing space. Our interior designers have devised two very elegant options, both in terms of the layout of the storage units and the choice of materials. One runs the full length along the window, the other is a corner layout. Both modernise the space and make it much more welcoming. But we don’t stop there…
Risk-taking: challenging the client
Some clients don’t like it when we stray from their original plan. But others are just waiting for that! To be surprised, to have their preconceptions challenged by the interior designer, whose role is to interpret their wishes through the lens of boundless creativity. We suggest opening up the kitchen to the living room and…
to make this living room more beautiful than ever… right down to the entrance hall. A bold proposal – more expensive, of course, but so much more original, and one that perfectly suits this young couple’s tastes. Their home will feel more spacious, gain more character and be brighter. Thoroughly won over, they’ve given us the go-ahead to move forward with the project in detail.
The move towards more realistic 3D renderings
The previous stage involved making key decisions (choosing materials, colours, fittings, etc.), followed by the stage of fine-tuning and adding the finishing touches that give the project a more personalised feel.
Once all these details have been finalised, it’s time for the ‘wow’ factor: realistic 3D renderings that come even closer to the real thing and allow the client to literally immerse themselves in their future home.
Next up is the entrance hall
The entrance hall is also set to undergo a major transformation, resulting in a warm and elegant space. Throughout this project, our collaboration with the client has been exemplary. All the time we spent visiting the premises, thinking beyond the initial brief, and listening to the client has proved beneficial to their project.
Our fitters will spend two days installing the entrance features.
