This living room interior design project in Hesperange is a fine example of a project carried out in two stages by BeHome Interiors Luxembourg, several months apart. An initial and successful meeting with our client led to the creation of a bespoke wardrobe and the design of the area around the entrance. The second meeting provided the opportunity to design an elegant sideboard – also made to measure – and to suggest furniture and décor from our catalogue.
Current situation
When we first met our client in his flat in Hesperange, the brief was to redesign part of the main room. This spacious, open-plan area stretches from the entrance to a modern open-plan kitchen, which was already in place. The main aim was to define the entrance area with a screen to create a visual boundary and separate it from the living room. A large wardrobe was also part of this initial phase.

The ideas they suggested for the first piece of furniture and the hallway convinced us to entrust them with another piece of furniture and the choice of armchairs and decorative items a few months later.”

As the kitchen is already in place, the large living room in this flat in Hesperange can be envisaged in various ways. Throughout both phases of the project, the dialogue between the interior designer and the client helped to clarify the intentions in great detail and avoid the unnecessary drafting of layout proposals. Trust, active listening and regular meetings reassured the client throughout the project. Precise measurements are shown in the sectional drawings below.
A striking entrance
The entrance hall needed to create a sense of separation from the room beyond, without being partitioned off. A floor-to-ceiling trellis provides just the right amount of visual interest and warmth. The walls of the entrance hall have been painted a dark green to emphasise this distinction and create a link with the kitchen, which is finished in the same shade.
A large, floor-to-ceiling wardrobe
With its impressive ceiling height, this made-to-measure wardrobe offers plenty of storage space! You have to admit it looks rather impressive with its Madison Walnut melamine fronts… Two large doors open onto shelves for organising documents, books and films. A recess finished in matt black provides a place to sit down to take off your shoes, for example.
A warm and bold sideboard
Created several months later, the sideboard consists of two distinct sections that blend together perfectly. The lower section is clearly made from the same materials as the wardrobe. The upper section features a most stylish interplay of transparency and darkness.
Decorating the living room in Hesperange
With white, wood and black dominating the room, should we stick with this harmonious scheme or break it up? We opted to introduce a bold splash of colour through the Bonaldo armchairs. A touch of elegant pink that visually creates a focal point, enhanced by a large Club rug and coffee tables.
