What materials should be used for this TV stand and bookcase?
The white sections are made from high-density chipboard with a lacquer-effect melamine finish – an extremely durable material that is more affordable than lacquer and easy to maintain.
And if melamine doesn’t take your fancy, we’ll be able to find, amongst the hundreds of colours in the RAL, NCS and SIKKENS colour charts, the shade that matches your husband’s tie or the cushion in the living room.
The wood-effect section is made from genuine oak veneer with an oiled, rustic finish! We use these materials extensively for our bespoke furniture as they combine quality, durability and elegance, and allow for both understated simplicity and a touch of whimsy, in a choice of matt oiled, satin-finish varnish, ultra-matt or high-gloss finishes.

What is high-density fibreboard?
High-density fibreboard is an MDF board (made from wood fibres compressed to a medium density), which may or may not be finished with decorative veneers, and offers a very wide range of colours, materials and textures.
Wood veneer really makes an impact!
Wood veneer, as the name suggests, is wood! It is a thin sheet of wood applied to an MDF or chipboard panel. The illusion is perfect, and the quality is certainly there. The edges are finished with solid wood edging.
