The interior design project for this couple from the canton of Luxembourg – Hesperange, to be precise – involved the renovation of part of the ground floor of their contemporary house, situated in a nearby village. The living area, which was particularly spacious and lacked any distinct features, required careful consideration in order to divide it into several distinct spaces without compromising its natural light. The entrance hall needed to be fitted with storage solutions to make it both practical and elegant. BeHome Interiors Luxembourg rose to the challenge and succeeded in creating an overall sense of harmony.
A glimpse of the living room layout from the kitchen
The kitchen, which had previously been designed by another firm, served as the starting point for our approach to designing the very large adjoining room (over 40m²). The pastel shades of green and blue, along with the wood and slate materials, are therefore carried through and adapted into a range of harmonious shades and textures. A TV unit and bookcase breaks up the length of the room, serving as a subtle divider without blocking out the natural light. On either side of this bespoke unit, the dining area and the living room sofa area each enjoy a generous floor space.
Bespoke TV unit and lighting
The TV unit and bookcase is open to let light through, serving as a cosy reading nook and offering a pleasant view from anywhere in the room. BeHome Interiors Luxembourg also supplied the living room lighting: handcrafted concrete pendant lights with a ‘lava’ finish.
The Claustra: a beautiful unifying element in interior design
The wooden screen adds a lovely finishing touch to the bespoke TV unit and bookcase, the colour of which complements the living room table and the home’s predominantly light-wood furniture.

A feature in the Entrance Hall, for an elegant and functional design
The layout of the entrance to this very open-plan house sets the tone, as it provides quick access to the living room described above. A screen made of slender slats of light-coloured wood adds a warm and elegant touch to the walls. A practical bench, for putting on shoes or taking a moment’s rest, is topped by discreet coat hooks. The space is extended by an elegant matt black lacquered walk-in wardrobe with four doors that open to reveal a generous depth. It provides storage for the whole family’s jackets and shoes.

The cosy wooden screen features discreet yet very useful coat hooks. Combined with a bench that makes it easy to take the time to put on your shoes and get ready, this entrance hall is instantly pleasant and welcoming.
A bespoke walk-in wardrobe for a more stylish home
A bespoke walk-in wardrobe fitted in this hallway provides ample storage space. The matt black finish of this unit, combined with light-coloured wood, lends a very contemporary feel to this house in Hesperange.
