Following the renovation of their home, these clients commissioned our BeHome Interiors team in Luxembourg to create several pieces of bespoke furniture (for the living room, hallway, etc.). This TV unit is the result of a wonderful collaboration between our team and this music-loving couple, who wanted it to complement the colour of their piano, provide ample storage and, above all, bring a unique style to the room.
A bespoke TV stand in the spotlight
A skilful combination of white, high-density melamine fronts and solid walnut veneer recesses gives this bespoke TV unit an instantly chic look. Once the lighting is switched on, there is no doubt that this piece brings a touch of style and warmth to the room, making you forget the coldness of the tiled floor and the white walls.

What was it like before?
A magnificent TV screen had found its place on the wall and wasn’t to be moved. Some lovely solid wood furniture had been placed there without much thought given to the layout. The bespoke TV unit that our architect had to design had to take this into account – though it was by no means a constraint.
Sketching the bespoke TV unit
Armed with his touchscreen tablet, our interior designer took the time to sketch this full-height TV unit whilst taking measurements. The project takes shape and evolves in response to the clients’ feedback. Niches and storage spaces are already taking shape, as is the lighting, hinted at by a few lines. At this stage, anything is possible, so we might as well vary the heights and tweak the structure until we find the piece of furniture that suits them perfectly.
Before reality, a stunning 3D rendering
This phase of designing the project in 3D on a computer is always an enjoyable step for everyone. The interior designer can visualise the ideas in their mind down to the smallest detail and position the TV unit within its surroundings. And the client can visualise their future bespoke furniture project in a realistic way.
A technological showcase for your TV
Without looking like it, this bespoke TV unit gives pride of place to technology and culture. Decorative acoustic panels in walnut veneer have been fitted all round the TV to prevent sound resonance. A remarkable feat worth noting: the wooden screen was fitted all round the TV without moving it! Behind their fronts, numerous shelves and storage compartments house a fine collection of DVDs, CDs and vinyl records… The subwoofer socket is concealed behind the drawer side panel so that the power cable runs discreetly behind the front panel.
TV stand with a beautiful finish
Crafted from high-density melamine-faced boards, with solid walnut veneer and a smooth white lacquer finish, this bespoke TV unit is a stunning interplay of forms. Appreciate the varying thicknesses in its design, the openings on all sides, and the interplay of solid and recessed sections. The unit runs the full height of the wall, and the TV, perched on a wooden lattice, looks far better than before, doesn’t it?
TV stand and bookcase with secret drawers
This TV unit also serves as a bookcase for books, music and film media, and decorative items. Hidden within this bespoke piece of furniture are also invisible, secret storage compartments that go unnoticed unless you look closely. We’ll let you in on a secret: the column on the left opens to reveal a set of compartments accessible only to those in the know. The same goes for the compartment at the bottom right, which opens to reveal storage for the pianist’s musical instruments. As it happens, even the client had forgotten about this hidden compartment when he was tidying up and arranging his decorative items and books! Bespoke design is also the art of surprise…
