This bespoke walnut and white TV unit is a project carried out in a modern flat in Belmont-sur-Lausanne by our BeHome Interiors team in Crissier. In the very light-filled living room, a generous section of wall has been dedicated to this resolutely contemporary piece of furniture. It extends from floor to ceiling. To create a striking contrast, the wood finish chosen by our interior designers for the fronts and horizontal surfaces stands out against the light-coloured parquet flooring.
Precise geometry characterises this bespoke TV stand
Viewed from the front, this bespoke TV unit features a composition of vertical lines and thick-edged horizontal planes. It exudes a robust appearance, enhanced by its height, which spans the entire wall. The lower section offers generous storage space. At the top, the open compartments in smooth white melamine – designed for books and decorative items – stand out clearly from the closed sections, which are finished in naturally oiled walnut veneer.

TV stand, bookcase, or both?
The open shelves provide a lovely display for books on this full-height TV stand. The television screen, neatly housed in its bespoke space, does not seem to compete with the books. Beautifully showcased (the black of the screen stands out clearly against the front), it blends perfectly with the clean lines of the bespoke unit, without dominating the space. This is where the limitless possibilities of a multifunctional, made-to-measure unit really come into their own: a bookcase? A TV stand? And why not both at the same time…
Full-height TV unit
In this modern flat in Belmont-sur-Lausanne, which does not have particularly high ceilings, the decision to build this TV unit to the full height of the wall is a sensible one, as it emphasises the room’s sense of space and prevents an obvious and costly waste of space. The recesses, which vary in width and height, add dynamism to the furniture and break up the impression of perfect symmetry.
A corner unit at just the right angle
On the left, the extension of the base unit of this bespoke TV unit forms a corner, providing some extra storage space as well as room for a plant and decorative items. The handle-free doors on the lower unit feature a push-to-open mechanism, allowing the spacious drawers to be opened with a simple push.
What was it like before?
The corner sofa was simply… in the corner. A coffee table took up space on the floor. The wasted space was obvious. Thanks to constructive discussions, our interior designers and fit-out specialists rethought the entire layout of the room and proposed a bespoke furniture arrangement that won the client over. Space-saving, stylish furniture and an improved interior design… what more could you ask for?
